Although studies support these claims, dermatologists are a bit skeptical due to their limitations.
“Turmeric is known to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, so it makes sense that it is helpful in skin care issues like acne, hyperpigmentation, and anti-aging,” said Maryann Mikahil, a certified dermatologist in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. “However, to be truly backed by science, there has to be some type of study done – a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial.”
