This Delhi-based startup considers a minimalist approach to skin care with hybrid products

When Anondeep Ganguly and Prabmehar Singh tried several skincare brands in an attempt to address issues with large pores and pigmentation, the duo found that the products on the market just weren’t doing enough.

Anondeep’s father is a scientist and specialist in plant molecules, skin diagnostics, biomarkers and skin treatment with over 40 years of experience. It was their network of fellow scientists who helped the duo dive deep and find solutions to skin problems.

“We realized that most combinations of essential oils are harmful to the skin and not beneficial as claimed. So, we launched Skin Pot to provide clinically effective and biocompatible skin care formulations without the ubiquitous “toxins,” sensitizers and irritants, ”said the co-founders. Your story.

The DelhiThe startup only launched its products in 2021 after a careful R&D process.

“Generation Z likes hybrid products because they imply good value for money and a move towards reduced consumption. We are seeing a push for versatile products and ‘skinimalism’ and we want to seize this opportunity, ”says Anondeep.

How it works?

Skin Pots develops precise and effective formulations designed to work with the deepest components of the skin.

“We firmly believe in healthy skin and our products aim to nourish and hydrate it with innovative active ingredients. We offer exfoliating peels, hybrid serums, sleep masks, sunscreens, collagen boosting creams, facial cleansers, etc. with active ingredients. Our products contain formulations that work deep in the skin microbiome to balance it, ”explains Prabmehar.

Skin Pot’s products contain skin microbiota ignition technology using plant stem cells that helps ignite skin microbiomes, leaving you with healthy, glowing skin.

“Our products target the root cause of many skin problems such as eczema, acne, dry skin, even fine lines and all UV damage due to skin microbiome imbalance. They help regenerate, repair and protect the skin by maintaining the skin microbiome, ”explains Prabmehar.

All formulations have pre, post and probiotic effects to help restore the balance of healthy skin microbes. “We also use unique liposomal technology that helps deliver identical skin molecules at the right skin levels,” he adds.

The market

Skin Pot wants to inspire the beauty that comes with a sense of self.

“We envision a minimalist approach to skin with hybrid products that help balance the microbiome, restoring your skin to healthy, confident skin. We believe in tangible results within a week without having to follow a 12-step beauty regimen, ”says Anondeep.

The startup also has a range, especially for postmenopausal women.

With a team of around seven employees currently, the startup is targeting growth from 27 to 30 by the end of this year.

According to BusinessWire, the skin care products market size was valued at Rs 129.76 billion in 2020, and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 8.22% during the period 2021-2025 to reach a value of 191.09 billion rupees by 2025.

“The main challenge is that the market is loaded with products scented with essential oils, which is totally contrary to what Skin Pot stands for,” explains Prabmehar, “we are trying to shatter the myth that essential oils are good for the skin. through our non-scented hybrid products. We are here to make a difference in the beauty industry so that women have confidence in their skin with a minimal skin routine.

The founders say any company in the skin care industry that positions itself as a clean beauty brand is competition. These include MyGlamm, Forest Essentials, Kiro, Bare Anatomy, and Arata, among others.

“Our differentiation lies in the clinic’s own beauty brand as well as in evidence-based skin care, as we use high science ingredients that are clinically tested and proven,” said Anondeep.

In addition to selling on its own website, Skin Pot’s products are also available in marketplaces like Amazon, Nykaa, among others.

Funding and the future

Primed So far, the founders have themselves invested around Rs 70 lakh in the startup. Skin Pot claims to currently have a Recurring Annual Income (ARR) of Rs 1 crore.

“We are looking to raise funds in the next 12 to 18 months. We would like to aggressively develop the brand after launching our new innovative references during Diwali in marketplaces and through our website, ”said Anondeep.

The startup is now looking to launch a line of easy-to-use hybrid products under three different sub-lines, which will typically be priced at Rs 339-999.

After the pandemic, the founders plan to expand and become a global player.

“That said, we’re not looking to bring a viral product to the skin care market, nor are we into mass production. Instead, we believe in slow, sustainable growth by following our passion for science and innovation. We believe in creating more innovative formulations to revolutionize the beauty industry with our formulations, ”adds Prabmehar.

The founders sum up their journey by saying, “We started Skin Pot by accident while researching a suitable and effective product that could heal large pores and pigmentation in both men and women. We don’t sell insecurities. We want to share our skin care solution with other people who have the same issues as us through a digital model.
