Cornwall Cosmetics Company Award for Sustainability


A Truro-based cosmetics company has been recognized for its sustainable business practices.

Made for Life Organics, a Certified B Corp, was named Best for the World B Corp in recognition of its exemplary performance beyond business metrics.

Ranking in the top 5% of all B Corps in its global size group for its sustainable business practices, Made for Life Organics has earned this honor due to its community service initiatives.

Amanda Winwood, Founder of Made for Life Organics, says: “As a UK based craft company in Cornwall, we’ve always been passionate about doing the right thing.

“We were delighted to hear that we are in the top 5% of B Corp companies for our work and commitment to the Community.

Best for the World recognition is administered by B Lab, the global nonprofit network that certifies and mobilizes B certified companies, which are for-profit companies that meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, responsibility and transparency.

Today, there are more than 4,000 B-certified companies in 77 countries and 153 sectors, united by a common goal: to transform the global economy for the benefit of all, all communities and the planet.

B Corps meets the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose.

B Corp certification doesn’t just assess a product or service, it assesses the overall positive impact of the company that supports it, such as Made for Life Organics.

Using Impact Assessment B, B Lab assesses the impact of a company’s operations and business model on its workers, community, environment and customers.

To obtain B Corp certification, a company must achieve a score of at least 80 points on the assessment.

More than 800 B Corps from more than 50 countries have been named to the 2021 Best for the World lists.

The 2021 Best for the World lists are determined based on verified B impact assessments of B certified companies.
