14-year-old entrepreneur launches her own makeup line, Glossi Glam Cosmetics


SALISBURY, Maryland – During the pandemic, 14-year-old Zy’rihana (Zy) Robinson, while in distance education, decided to start her own line of cosmetics. She had the idea of ​​creating her own lip care line when she was only 12, and now her line, ‘Glossi Glam Cosmetics, ‘really blossomed. “I feel independent because I can do a lot of things people my age can’t do,” Zy says. She adds, “When I go to pop-up shops and see smaller kids my age buying stuff and wondering how I did it, it makes me feel good.”

A jack of all trades, Zy tells us that she enjoys gymnastics, baking, hair care and of course makeup. However, she says her real desire to create her own line of cosmetic lip care began during COVID. She says it wasn’t a walk in the park to begin with though. “Sometimes there will be months when I don’t get any orders and I think it’s for all companies,” Zy explains. She adds, “Sometimes it gets unmotivating when I have to keep telling myself, keep pushing.”

Now, she says, with the help of her mother who is also a small business owner, she is hoping her business will take off. Her mom tells us that helping her make her dream come true is all that matters to her. “I am just amazed that she is so determined and confident in what she is doing, I am proud to say that she is my daughter,” says her mother, Cheree Robinson.

However, we are told that what makes ‘Glossi Glam Cosmetics‘ so unique is that everything is homemade. “It’s different from everyone else because it determines how much effort and love you put into the product,” Zy explains.

Although Zy and her mom say they still have a way to go before they can open a store, they won’t stop until she gets to where she needs to be. “At the end of the day, no matter if she has a lot of sales or a little, I’m always going to push her to keep doing her best, to keep going.”
